Mexican Poppy - First Wash

The background is critical in this painting. I want a soft focus in the first layer using the foundational colors, French ultramarine, Gamboge and Rose. It starts with a wet-on-wet wash building darks around what will be the light-yellow blossom. And as the paper is drying, we get some sharper lines in the upper right which gives me ideas for the next wash...
